For the overall development of the state and its people government has set up
various intellectual and professional institutions including:
- Sikkim State Planning Commission.
- Sikkim Rajya Women Commission-24th Nov.2002- onward.
- Agricultural Export Zone
- Centre of Excellence of International Business organization.
- New Schools and colleges.
- Sikkim Academy.
- To honour and felicitate Sikkimese and Indian Nepalese who have
significantly contributed in the field of art, literature, culture, cinema
etc. "Sikkim Samman Sammilan" are organized.
- Himalayan Centre of Adventure Tourism.
- Chintan Bhavan and Samman Bhavan.
- Cooperative Bhavan.
- Regional Secretariat, Karfectar, Jorethang.
- Khanda Vikas Karyalaya in each constituency.
- "Multi-purpose cooperative Samitis" in 161 Gram Panchayat Units.
- Sikkim Board of investment.
- A round table conference in December 2000 at India International Centre,
new Delhi Between Sikkim Government and national and international NGO's was
held.
- The SDF government formed a "Sikkim Sahitya kala and Sangit Academy"
- Construction of Judicial court in Gangtok, Mangan and Gayzing.
- Village administrative centres have been established in panchayat areas
and libraries have been opened in those centres. Today there are libraries
in all 166 Panchayat units of the State.
- At Geyzing "Bharatiya nepali bhasa Ewam sanskriti Anusandhan kendra" is
being constructed.
